AI in Surveying Insights: are lenders ready for AI valuations?

Hi Reader

Welcome to the new edition of AI in Surveying

As I track AI in Surveying across news and media every day, I wanted to provide articles that might be of interest to you, as well as my own weekly piece.

If you find this helpful please do share with colleagues and peers.

Nina's take

This week's AI in Surveying looks at the skills that matter more as AI speeds up the routine work. Every conversation on the podcast comes back to people.

  • Why bad news, negotiation and mediation now decide the outcome
  • Why checking and signing off AI output is becoming the core of the job
  • Where juniors will learn once their training tasks are automated

AI explained

What is an LLM?

LLM stands for large language model. It is the technology behind tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini. It has learned from huge amounts of text and writes by predicting the most likely next words, which is why it can sound confident and still be wrong.
